    Facebook's "Evil Interfaces" | Electronic Frontier Foundation

    Avatar von KMR KMR - 04.05.10 19:08
    Social networking companies don't have it easy. Advertisers covet their users' data, and in a niche that often seems to lack a clear business model, selling (or otherwise leveraging) that data is a tremendously tempting opportunity. But most users simply don't want to share as much information with marketers or other...

    Facebook Further Reduces Your Control Over Personal Information

    Avatar von worldspy worldspy - 20.04.10 05:28
    Once upon a time, Facebook could be used simply to share your interests and information with a select small community of your own choosing. As Facebook's privacy policy once promised, "No personal information that you submit to Facebook will be available to any user of the Web Site who does not belong to at least one of the groups...

    The entire family of devices built on the iPhone OS (iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad) have been designed to run only software that is approved by Apple—a major shift from the norms of the personal computer market. DRM: Verbot von Radio-Aufnahmen nicht nur aus dem Netz in Vorbereitung

    Avatar von onreact.com onreact.com - 16.01.07 13:44
    Laut EFF soll offenbar ein Verbot von Radio-Aufnahmen durch die Hintertür eingeschmuggelt werden. Es ist klar, dass wenn die USA damit durchkommt, der Rest der "zivilisierten" Welt folgt.
    DRM = Dreiste Radio Mörder?

    Patentzerstörung bei der EFF

    Avatar von Zaphod Zaphod - 13.06.06 10:10
    Sehr nette Sache: Die EFF sucht Beispiele für "Prior Art", mit denen sich gängige Softwarepatente vor Gericht anfechten lassen.
    Ich persönlich bin ja der Ansicht, dass Anmelder von Softwarepatenten eher mit 5 Gramm Blei angefochten werden sollten.

    EFF gegen die eMailsteuer von AOL

    Avatar von P-W P-W - 25.02.06 11:15
    AOL will auf das Versenden von eMailsgebühren erheben, oder zumindest wenn diese nicht erst durch die zahlreichen Spamfilter laufen sollen und direkt in die Inbox kommen sollen. Für Spammer ist das somit ein kaum tragbares Geschäft, der Provider verdient noch ordentlich dazu und der User leidet darunter. Keine tolle Idee.
